Testing PDF Accessibility

Recently Adobe ran a series of education sessions for public servants in Canberra about optimising PDF documents for accessibility. AGIMO has published the Adobe presentations on the Web Guide to ensure agencies have access to these materials.

Building accessibility into documents is essential, however testing for accessibility is an important part of ensuring the highest levels of accessibility are met. We recently came across an interesting paper presented at the 2011 CSUN conference which provided a Comparison of PDF Testing Tools. Read more

The Australian Government releases its Cloud Computing Strategic Direction Paper

Yesterday, David Tune released the draft ICT Strategic Vision for public consultation on this blog. The ICT Strategic Vision encourages innovation through examining and adopting new and emerging technologies more rapidly. Finance seeks your feedback on draft ICT Strategic Vision

As Chair of the Secretaries’ ICT Governance Board, I am pleased to release today the draft 2011 ICT Strategic Vision for comment and feedback:

The draft Vision outlines a long term plan for the government’s use of information and communication technology to support increased public sector productivity. It does this by describing how the public sector can use ICT to deliver better government services, engage openly with stakeholders and improve government operations. The Vision explains the actions and activities to support each of these priorities. Read more
