By Ann Steward - AGIMO on 29 Feb 2012 7:00pm, 1 comment

Reviewing the Common Operating Environment Policy

By John Sheridan - AGIMO on 17 Feb 2012 11:31am, 18 comments

Just over 12 months ago, we published the first version of the Whole-of-Government Common Operating Environment (COE) Policy on this blog. By Glenn Archer - AGIMO on 15 Feb 2012 9:51am, 5 comments

Over the past few months, we have been working with industry and agencies to produce a series of Better Practice Guides for Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997 (FMA Act) agencies on the key financial, legal and privacy concerns agencies may face when considering cloud-based services.

In November 2011, we released draft versions of the guides for public comment.  Below, we now provide the links to the finalised versions of these guides. The guides have been developed to reflect Australian Government FMA Act agencies’ responsibilities in the context of the Australian legislative and regulatory environment. Read more

Last week, I gave a presentation to members of the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy on the use of social networking tools in government. In accordance with our developing practice, I am posting the slides here on our blog. The presentation was also videoed and, for those of you who really need to get a life, we’ll post the links to the video once they are available. In the mean time, the gist of the discussion follows. 2012 Australian Government ICT Awards open for nominations

By Special Minister of State, Gary Gray on 1 Feb 2012 12:35pm, 2 comments

It is again my pleasure to open the Excellence in eGovernment Awards, Government 2.0 Innovator Award and the ICT Professional of the Year Award for 2012.

It is now seven years since the government first introduced an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Awards program. In that time, every nomination we have received has been an acknowledgement of the excellent work that Government does. Read more
