Earlier this month I presented to agencies and industry regarding the progress of the Australian Government Data Centre Strategy. Particular focus of the presentation was on the Data Centre Panels (Facilities and Migration Services). Greenfield sites added to Data Centre Facilities Panel
I am pleased to tell you that these Greenfield facilities are being added to the panel for the provision of data centres to Australian Government agencies:
- Australian Data Centres (Mitchell, ACT)
- Enterprise Data Corporation (Bella Vista, NSW)
- Fujitsu (Greystanes, NSW and Fyshwick, ACT)
- Global Switch (Ultimo, NSW)
- Macquarie Telecom (two sites at North Ryde, NSW) and
- Metronode (Derrimut, VIC and Mitchell, ACT)

Data Centre Program Update
Since the Australian Government Data Centre Strategy 2010-25 was announced in March 2010, the Data Centre Migration Services Panel and Data Centre Facilities panel have been established. The Data Centre Facilities Panel will be expanded to include greenfield sites, more information will be provided later. Read more

Discussion Paper on Data Centre as a Service (DCaaS)
My team is implementing the Australian Government Data Centre Strategy (the Strategy) announced on 22 March 2010. One of the elements of the Strategy is something we called ‘Data Centre as a Service’ (DCaaS).
