Presentation on Agency Services in AGIMO – 28 October 2010

By John Sheridan - AGIMO on 28 Oct 2010 5:07pm

This morning I spoke at Intermedium’s annual Federal Government ICT Market: The Year in Review 2009-10 breakfast. Like most APS areas, AGIMO gets regular requests to speak at such events. While we can’t accept them all, we do try to target those which have particular relevance for at least some of our stakeholders. In this case, the audience was largely composed of ICT industry representatives. Their interests, other than finding out who won Intermedium’s annual Froggy awards, revolved around understanding the Government ICT market as revealed by Intermedium’s analysis of the 2009-10 AusTender figures and the ICT‑related details drawn from the 2010-11 Budget. The RFT invites Tenders for both existing Data Centres and Data Centres under development.

Data Centre Migration Services

By Kayelle Wiltshire - AGIMO on 16 Sep 2010 12:10pm

Hello again, in this post I’ll discuss our next step in bringing the Australian Government Data Centre Strategy to life.

AGIMO will soon invite tenders for data centre migration services on behalf of all Australian Government agencies.  Essentially, this is for the services to move data centre equipment from one site to another. This is not a general IT consultancy – it is highly specialised infrastructure work. Read more

Lessons learnt

By John Sheridan - AGIMO on 5 Aug 2010 2:05pm

A few weeks ago, we posted a discussion paper on the draft Whole of Government Common Operating Policy on our blog. Regular readers will have noticed that it didn’t attract any comments online. Some 173 separate people viewed the post in total. As this graph shows, we posted on a Friday night and most people read it early the following week.  There was also a spike when an industry newsletter mentioned our blog. Read more

Consultation Draft RFT: Data Centre Facilities – Pricing Model

By Kayelle Wiltshire - AGIMO on 9 Jul 2010 11:53am

Thank you for the comments we have had on the Data Centre Facilities Request for Tender (RFT) so far.  As I signalled in my initial post, the Statement of Requirement is only one element of the draft RFT.  Another matter, which I am sure will be of interest widely, is the pricing we will ask tenderers to provide as part of their response.

To address this interest, we have prepared a description of our draft pricing model (RTF, 45k, also available in PDF, 114k, and HTML).  In particular, I am interested in your views about which elements we should be pricing and whether you can identify any other elements, components or dimensions that influence price and thus should be included in the model. Consultation: Draft COE Discussion Paper

By John Sheridan - AGIMO on 2 Jul 2010 5:57pm

The Government’s agreement to the coordinated procurement of desktop hardware (the RFT of which is currently under evaluation) included a decision to pursue a whole of government Common Operating Environment (COE). We have been working with agencies on a discussion paper on this subject and we are now ready to share it more widely. We would welcome comments from interested parties so that we can use them to develop an effective and efficient way forward. Read more
