Winners for 2011 Australian Government ICT Awards

By Special Minister of State, Gary Gray on 2 Jun 2011 8:00am, 1 comment

I am delighted to congratulate the Award winners of this year’s Australian Government ICT Awards – these Awards include the Excellence in eGovernment Awards, ICT Professional of the Year Award and Government 2.0 (Gov 2.0) Innovator Award.

The Award winners were presented with their Awards at the CeBIT Australia ICT Celebration Dinner last night in Sydney. I’d like to thank Senator Kate Lundy for standing in for me and presenting the awards.

The National Library of Australia’s project Trove won the 2011 Excellence in eGovernment Award, as well as the Service Delivery Category Award.  The Trove search engine shows how Government is harnessing digital technology to improve service delivery, linking Australians to millions of resources available online, and in Australian libraries, cultural institution and research collections. By Kathleen Brigdale - AGIMO on 31 Mar 2011 10:16am, no comments

The Excellence in eGovernment Awards, Government 2.0 Innovator Award and the ICT Professional of the Year Award closed on Tuesday. We received a flood of nominations in the last couple of days.

At last count we had over 60 nominations – up from 41 last year. It has been great to see the quality and diversity of the nominations. Once the registration process is finished, the nominations will be passed to our judging panels to do their jobs. Just in case nominees are wondering, we will let everyone know on 2 May whether they have made it through to the second round of judging.
